Novice Storm Advance to OMHA Finals
The Novice Storm have advanced to the West Regional OMHA Championship after a thrilling 3-2 Overtime victory in Essex on Wednesday night.
After a scoreless first period. The Essex Ravens quickly jumped out to a 2- 0 lead early in the 2nd period.
Unlike Game #3's outcome where this young Storm team continued to slide the 2 goal deficit seemed to spark an extra effort from this team. Some hard forchecking and heavy net pressure produced some great scoring chances in the later part of the 2nd where the Storm picked up 2 goals tying the game 2-2.
While the Storm continued to put on the pressure and get some great scoring chances in the 3rd they were denied by the Ravens great goaltending. Thus pushing this game into the extra frame.
The Storm were able to complete the victory a couple minutes into OT again on a scramble in front that produced a glorious chance.
Hats off to both teams for producing such an exciting game and series for anyone that attended these games.
The Storm will be facing the Fort Erie Meteors in the Finals. Schedule TBA
