Writers Lockout Ends
After a lengthy and heated battle with the AP, we're happy to report the triumphant return of our Articling.  We all happy to be getting back to work after the lockout!

After two successful showings at tournaments, misadventures of both Max and Erma's and the Hotel restaurant, we're happy to report that our writers have ended their holdout and, as such, are happy to be returning to the tablet articling the rest of the season's outings.

Friday night, the Erie North Shore Storm Select 7's traveled to Amherstburg for a spirited tilt against their club.  Switching up several of the positions afforded many of the Storm's regular players a chance to try out a new position, moving some D up to forward and forwards back to play D.  Although this resulted in some minor confusion as to positional play the kids all played fantastic and came out of the game with a 3-3 tie due to a last minute scoring drive by Amherstburg.  An excellent outing by Tommy M held the opponents at bay and goal scorers on the Storm side included Nate M, Cole K and Cale M.  One of the players that was pulled up to a new position was Matteo R providing strong offensive pressure that not only resulted in the opponents coughing up the puck on several occassions but also saw him receive the coveted "Yellow Jersey" for his efforts.  Congratulations Matteo!

A second game on the weekend took place at South Windsor Arena and again, resulted in a knotted score at the end of regulation time.  This game too saw several positional changes that proved to be not too large of a hurdle for the Storm to adjust to.  Excellent defensive coverage was provided by Mikayla A and AJ while Nick W proved once again that he is capable of being not only a defensive stalwart but a solid, effective rusher with the puck.  Colin R flashed the leather on more than one occassion keeping the Lasalle club off the board and Nico S, our lone goal scorer, ensured that they did not pull ahead.  The teams efforts resulted in a 1-1 tie at the end of the game.  Again, excellent efforts by all the kids that played both their normal positions and those that were tasked with trying a new position.

See you Friday.
