Storm Redeemed with Win versus Jr. Canadians
The first match up between these two resulted in a tie at the end of regulation....this was not to be the second go round....

Friday night in Harrow the Storm once again took to the ice in search of a victory against the Belle River Jr. Canadians.

Despite Belle Rivers best attempts, Colin R was able to keep the net vacant of pucks for the first period.  Colin was tried on several occassions throughout the first period and thanks to a hot trapper, kept the opponents at bay.  Unfortunately for the Storm, Belle River's netminder came out hot  as well.  We were not able to capitalize on any opportunites and took a 0-0 tie into the second period.

The second period was lots of the same, back and fourth.  Charlie C was able to skate the puck into the opponents end, cut to the center of the ice and bury a shot giving the Storm the first goal of the game.  Shortly after that, Cale M forced the Jr. Habs to cough it up in their corner, carry it out front and again, light the lamp in the Belle River end for a 2-0 lead.

The lead was carried into the 3rd period and sustained most of the way throughout the period.  Solid backchecking by the Storm kept the 2-0 lead until late in the 3rd period when Belle River trickled one past Colin, inching them closer to the Storm with a score of 2-1.  With seconds ticking away, Belle River put everything out against the Storm and came very close on more then one occassion.  Excellent defensive efforts in our end along with our un-phased tender resulted in the final being 2-1 for the Storm.

Not the same team that took to the ice early in the year, this new Storm proved too much for the Canadians as a direct result of excellent team work both on the fore check and the back check.  Knowing our positions and what our options are when we get the puck all contributed to the W.  An strong effort on the attack and the back check by Ty H netted him the coveted yellow jersey this time out.  Excellent job Ty....see everyone Friday!!

Go Storm!!
