Erie North Shore Storm Peewee Minors 03/02/13 – 03/03/13 Play-offs
Peewee Minors get off to a slow start but end with a great finish this weekend!

Saturday March 2 the Peewee Minors returned from their OMHA run to compete in the league play-offs. Playing once again with a shortened bench the Storm took to the ice against the Southpoint Capitals. The Storm struggled through the first period allowing two Southpoint goals to slip past and ended the period without getting on the board. The second period saw the Storm come alive scoring four times, but also allowing four Southpoint goals. Scoring first for the Storm on the powerplay was Ethan Litster unassisted. Kristian Pelling got the second with help from Austin Marr and Mitchell Renaud. Next up was Declan Handley assisted by Kristian and the fourth was scored by Robbie Brush and assisted by Kristian and KayCyn Hernandez. The Storm had some catching up to do in the third period as they were now down by two goals. Two minutes into the period Ethan scored his second of the game assisted by Daniel Price and Owen Stannard. Then with three minutes left Austin Marr on the powerplay buried the tying goal in the net assisted by Kristian. With a final score of 6-6 the Storm split the points for their first game in the play-offs. Once again our players showed their good sportsmanship by receiving only one minor penalty throughout the game while Southpoint sent eight players to the box. The Storm outshot their opponents 25-19 and goalies Scotti Beneteau and Connor Axford both did a great job sharing the netminding duties for this game.

Sunday March 3 the Peewee Minors were once again on home ice, this time against the Riverside Rangers. This time there would be no struggling for the Storm, who hit the ice and never looked back! With goalie Scotti Beneteau ready between the pipes, Robbie Brush wasted no time scoring the first goal of the game in the first minute of play with help from Kristian Pelling and Austin Marr. Less than a minute later Declan Handley buried the gamewinner assisted by Rebecca Misiasz and Michael Connelly. In the second the Storm continued peppering the Ranger goalie with shots scoring four more unanswered goals! Austin Marr netted the first goal assisted by Ethan Litster and Robbie Brush. Daniel Price scored next with help from Kristian and Declan. The third goal of the period was another by Robbie Brush, assisted by Austin and Ethan. With thirty seconds left in the period Daniel got his second of the game assisted by Franco Shaften. In the third the Storm refused to let up and scored thirty seconds into the period with another goal by Robbie Brush assisted by Austin and Ethan. Unfortunately one minute later Riverside robbed Scotti of the shutout by slipping one past him. The Storm retaliated by scoring two more times before the final buzzer, with both goals scored by Austin giving him the hat trick! Assisting Austin on both goals was Kristian. With a final score of 9-1 the Storm once again showed what a strong force they are! The Storm outshot Riverside by a staggering 49-7. Great teamwork Storm!!!
