BLUEWATER CHAMPIONS
We are happy to Announce the MARLIN Dock and Door Peewee Majors are the 2012-2013 BLUEWATER CHAMPIONS !!! After a good OMHA run to the Quarter Finals, our attention was turned back to the BWL Playoffs and the Kids Did not disappoint as they played there hearts out throughout the Round Robin Games, but THE BEST WAS YET TO COME !!!

We entered the Semi Final against Windsor Jr. Spitfires as the underdog/road team on a night that may very well be the last night used for Minor Hockey at the 'Old Barn' in downtown Windsor. The First Two Periods of the Semi Finals it looked as if this may be the end of the Road for the Peewee Storm trailing 2-0, but as the game progressed we began to get some breaks and we took advantage of them as we fought back to tie the game late in the third behind some great goaltending by Ben Simonis. Overtime would begin with us shorthanded (4 on 3) for the first two minutes, we were able to kill of that penalty and hold the Jr. Spits off the board the rest of the way. Heading into the Shoot-Out you couldn't help but be confident in our goal scoring and our goaltending!! Evan Mallen and Carter Reh both scored beautiful goals in the shoot out and BIG BEN didn't allow a goal at the other End so we were off to the Finals to play the #1 Seeded Belle River Canadiens.
We had played Belle River 3 times already this season and had a 3 game combined score of 20-6 in favour of Belle River including  a 7-1 loss in earlier Round Robin play so the Coaches and Kids new we would have our hands full for the BWL Championship Game. From the Start of the Game it was clear that the Belle River team had only one goal in mind... they wanted to shut down what they thought were our only 2 big guns. They were successful in holding both Bondy and Mallen at bay for most of the game, BUT , they forgot that double teaming 44 and 5 would result in other offensively skilled players such as Mertz and Reh being left open and today was the day for Reh to explode for 3 goals and the defensive core of Bowser, Major, Moniz, Johnson, Bortolon, and Connelly held the opposition from getting to the net the way they wanted to. The perimeter shots they were getting and chances from down low were all stopped in another great performance by Simonis in net as the tandem of Dimenna and himself have been strong for us all season long. Late in the game as BR pressured more and more to try and even the score the defensive play of our Wingers became a huge asset as we were able to time and time again clear the puck from our zone , great play along the boards by Hickmott, Coghill, Somers and Haggart proved to be too much for the high powered offense of the Canadiens. We continued to hold them at bay for the rest of the game as the only goal the boys from Belle River was able to get past our goaltender was an arrant shot that was inadvertently deflected off a Storm defender.
Congratulations to all the Players, Parents and Coaches on a Great Finish to the season. OMHA Quarter Finals, Capital Cup Champions, and Bluewater Champions with a season record of 64GP 36W 23L 5T  in a league playing with A and AA Opponents to finish the year as a +38 in goal differential, you can all be very Proud of your Efforts and your success.

GO STORM !!!! Hope to see everyone at Tryouts beginning Saturday June 1st ....
