Erie North Shore Storm Peewee Majors – 11/01/13 to 11/02/13
Erie North Shore Storm Peewee Majors have a great weekend with two big wins!

11/01/13 – Storm vs. Windsor Jr. Spitfires AA

Friday November 1 the Storm played on home ice against the Windsor Jr. Spitfire AA team. Goalie Connor Axford took his place between the pipes and the Storm prepared to take on the AA team. Windsor came out playing very aggressively and the Storm happily accepted the challenge. Windsor got on the board first at the halfway point of the period, but the Peewee Majors quickly answered that goal when Ethan Litster scored with help from Rebecca Misiasz and Franco Shaften. One second before the period buzzer Ryan Mucha on the powerplay popped the go ahead goal in the net off a pass from Franco Shaften, giving the Storm a one goal lead going into the second! Thirty seconds into the period Windsor tied it up, but not for long. Austin Marr gave the Storm the lead once again with an unassisted goal. Both teams fought hard for the puck for the remainder of the second and right up to the last seconds of the third when Kristian Pelling on the powerplay scored an empty netter off a pass from Ethan Litster, giving the Storm a 4-2 win against the AA Spitfires!! Both teams played aggressively resulting in a total of 14 penalties, with the Storm receiving 6. The Storm outshot the Jr. Spitfires 23-17. Connor Axford did a fantastic job defending the net against the AA players and the entire team played a terrific game! Great job Storm!!

11/02/13 – Storm vs. Amherstburg Stars

Saturday November 2 the Storm travelled to Amherstburg to take on the Stars. Goalie Nate Jacobs took his place in net and the Storm hit the ice. In previous seasons the Storm had no problem taking on Amherstburg but it is a much stronger team this year, so there was no letting up in this game. The first period remained scoreless as both teams fought hard to be first on the board, with Amherstburg barely outshooting the Storm at 5 shots to 4. In the second the Storm came to life and pummeled the Amherstburg goalie with 17 shots. Rebecca Misiasz finally popped one in assisted by Ethan Litster to get the Storm on the board. Amherstburg answered that goal in the last minute of period play while on a 5 on 3 powerplay, finishing up the second with a 1-1 tie. In the third the Storm continued outshooting the Stars and it paid off when Adrian Ridsdale shot one in the net off a pass from Rebecca Misiasz giving the Storm the lead. Adrian then did it again with his second goal of the game, this time assisted by Kristian Pelling and Owen Stannard. Finally in the last minute of play Kristian Pelling got one of his own shooting the puck in the empty net off a pass from Austin Marr. The Storm outshot the Stars 32-12 and goalie Nate Jacobs was astounding in net making many great glove & pad saves. Two big wins to add to the season for the Storm! Great work out there Peewee Majors!!!
