Storm Take Two of Three on Weekend
For the second Friday home game in a row, the Erie North Shore Novice Storm would host their rivals from Essex.

Looking for the offence to get on track, the Storm came out firing once again. Quinn Brennan fired one from the point in the second minute with assists from Brock Bezaire and Ben Ash. Elijah Pezzotti then poked one in from Brock and Quinn. Essex would respond by the end of the period to even the gap. However, the Storm would control the remainder of the game firing in five goals in the last two periods, paced by two each from Nevan Branco and Ben Buchner, while Brock closed out the game. Many Storm players chipped in, with assists going to Sage Batke  and Ava Merritt with two each and Elijah, Carson Stomp, Quinn, Ben Ash and Reyth Smith all on the game sheet with helpers. The Storm were satisfied with a convincing victory over the Ravens. On Saturday, the team travelled to Leamington to take on the Southpoint Capitals on the big rink. Although the offense would take a while to heat up, the Storm were on the board with a 3-0 lead after two periods with Carson pumping the first two and Nevan  going bar down on a breakaway marker. The flood gates would open in the third period with a flurry of goals en route to an 8-0 victory. Nevan completed the hattie with two in the third, Reyth also found the back of the net and Brock fired home two of his own. Setting up the goal scoring frenzy was Ben B, Elijah and Sage with two each and Noah Dufour, Ava Merritt  Reyth and Nevan setting up one apiece. Congrats go to Gannon Hunter with his first career shutout. The Storm would roll into the WFCU to face the Riverside Rangers on Sunday afternoon. It was a wild affair with 16 goals and many penalties. The Storm held a 2-1 lead after the first period one tallies from Reyth and Carson on passes from Nevan and Ashton Sim. In the second period, the Rangers would take the lead at 4-3, with Reyth scoring on a nifty backhander over the goalies glove. The Storm would tie the game a few seconds into the final period on a goal from Ben B, assisted by Ava. However, the home team would score three straight to take a 7-4 lead. The score would stay like this for a while, until Nevan fired two home, 14 seconds apart on assists from Noah and Ben B, to make it a one goal game. Then Riverside took advantage on the power play, extending their lead by two. The Storm could not recover and the Rangers scored two more goals in the last minute, sending the Storm to a 10-6 loss. There were many positives from the weekend, with two wins and scoring 21 goals, hopefully a sign of good things to come.
