Team building weekend
This past Saturday the Atom Storm team participated in the Ropes Course at Gesstwood Camp. It was a great experience for all. They learned to come together as a team, to encourage & support each other and to work through frustration in problem solving. Afterwards, they all enjoyed a BBQ with their coaches.
Later on Saturday, the team played the LaSalle Sabres at home. The parents were not sure how this game was going to go as the kids all had a busy, energy draining day at the Ropes Course. It was a great surprise when the Atoms came out flying. They had two amazing periods of hockey. They were able to shut LaSalle down through two. In the third LaSalle did get some quick goals on Erie and the final score was 5-0 for the visiting team. Even though the final score wasn't favourable we couldn't have asked for a better effort from any of them. All the players should be proud. Great game team!
Sunday evening they played at the WFCU center vs. the Riverside Rangers. Riverside came at them hard from the first drop of the puck. Erie had some trouble getting the play going. In the third, they did start putting some pressure on but Riverside continued to dominate on a tired team. Final score 7-0 Riverside.
