On Friday September 25th the Storm visited the
Amherstburg Stars for their first road game of the season.
It took a while for the Storm to adjust to the bigger ice with the Stars taking a 2-1 lead after the first with the lone Storm goal going to Elijah Pezzotti. Although the Storm had a better second period they still found themselves down, this time 3-1. The Stars scored a quick goal in the beginning of third to increase their lead to 3. Easton Jacobs kept the Storm in the game with some great saves until the Storm unleashed the thunder, scoring 4 unanswered goals with under 6 minutes remaining. First, Ashton Sim popped one in with a shot off the draw Then 40 seconds later Sage Batke, with quick hands, sniped in the rebound . The Storm kept rolling when Pezzotti buried his second of the night to tie up the game. Finally, with less than a minute left in the game the Storm made their final push with Ben Buchner scoring on a one timer to put the Stars to rest. Final score 5-4 for the Storm . Assists went to Brock Bezaire(2), Buchner (2), Sim, Ava Merritt and Marshall Champeau. Special shout out to Easton Jacobs for his first win as a Storm goalie and for being named player of the game.
