Storm Tame Cobras
Sunday afternoon, the Erie North Shore Atom Minors traveled to Chatham to take on the Kent Cobras on the big rink.

The Storm controlled the play for much of the first half of the game, generating many scoring chances and good offensive zone time. Yet they only led 1-0 thanks to a backhand laser from Ben Buchner, assisted by Sage Batke and Ashton Sim. Early in the second, Reyth Smith went top corner on a nice pass from Nevan Branco. However, the Cobras responded quickly to keep the score close until Noah Dufour won a battle at the blue line and sent Buchner on a breakaway, who made no mistake on a great deke to regain the two goal margin. The score would remain this way until late in the third when the Cobras were wearing out the Storm on the large ice surface, making it a one goal game again, with just under three minutes to play. Timely saves by Gannon Hunter led to Buchner's hattie on a great feed from Sim to put the game on ice with a 4-2 victory. Player of the Game was awarded to Sage Batke for his consistent hustle and battling on the boards including some great penalty killing late in the game.
