St. Thomas Slips Past Storm
The Atom A.E. Storm had their Playdown dreams dashed in game 7 of their series vs. St. Thomas

Game # 7 - Saturday February 6/2016 - Harrow
It was winner take all in the series finale as both Erie and St.Thomas entered the game with 6 points apiece.
In a game befitting a game 7 billing, both teams poured their hearts out and left it all on the ice.
The Storm came out strong from the opening faceoff and controlled puck possession for the majority of the first period. Despite hard work winning battles in the corners, Erie could not get any clean shots off from the slot.
St. Thomas picked up their game in the second period but stellar goaltending at both ends of the rink had the game scoreless going into the third.
With the season on the line for both teams, the third period featured a classic back and forth tilt. Finally with 5 minutes remaining, St. Thomas knocked in a rebound to go up 1-0. The Storm pulled the goalie for the extra attacker with 2 minutes left, but St. Thomas answered with an empty netter.
Not giving up on their season, The Storm kept pressuring and Wyatt scored in the final minute to keep Erie's playdown hopes alive. With just seconds left the Storm drove the offensive zone but were stymied by the opposing goaltender at the buzzer.
Final Score: St. Thomas 2 - Storm 1

The Coaches can't express enough of how proud they are of this team. While the outcome was disappointing, the effort was not.
We still have work to do in winning the Bluewater playoffs, so until then....

Go Storm Go!!
