Lasalle vs. Storm - February 20/2016
After a 2 week layoff, the Atom A.E. Storm began their Bluewater league playoffs Saturday.

The Coaches were a little concerned of a slow start after a long break, as well as a competitive Lasalle team, who had beaten the Storm the last 2 out of 3 games.
While the Team did not find their game legs right away, they were able to evenly match Lasalle’s output in the first period. The result was scoring chances at both ends but the period ending in a scoreless tie.
You can see the Team getting stronger in the second period and were rewarded when Keegan made two nice dekes on the Lasalle goalie before firing it home. The second period ended with the Storm up 1-0.
Lasalle tied up early in the third when a man out front broke away from our defensive coverage just long enough to bang home a centering pass from the corner. Half way through the third period Lasalle took the lead on a controversial call ( we’ve seen our share of those the last few weeks ) After the initial shot and save, the Lasalle forward falls forward, crashing into the net, pushing Tommy and the puck across the line. Despite the Coaches objections, the goal stood. The Team responded well and the next shift Teagan scored to even things at 2.
Lasalle ran into penalty trouble late in the game and the Storm made them pay. With 2 minutes left, on the powerplay, Mikayla broke down the right side and fired a low wrist shot on goal. Brady went hard to the net and buried the rebound from the slot for the game winner.

Final score: Storm 3 – Lasalle 2

Great start to the league playoffs. Next game is Sunday February 28, 3:30pm in Lasalle.

Go Storm Go !!
