Storm Pushes On
Submitted By Bubba Shaw on Tuesday, March 1, 2016
The Atom A.E. Storm surged into first place in the Bluewater playoff round robin standings by winning both of their games this weekend.

Tecumseh vs. Storm - Saturday February 27/2016 - Harrow

It was the "Ian Show" on Saturday as # 27 took a cue from his Mother the previous night and lit it up against the Eagles. Scoring his first ever Hat Trick, Ian also added an assist in his 4 point night, en route to the Storms impressive victory. Also contributing on the scoresheet were Brady, Connor, Wyatt and Michael with 2 of his own. Final score: Storm 8 - Tecumseh 0

Storm vs. Lasalle - Sunday February 28/2016 - Lasalle

Looks like these 2 teams are developing a real "hate on" for each other. In what can be described as a "chippy affair" The Storm and Sabres faced off for their final of 2 round robin games.
In a familiar scene, the Storm started off strong and controlled the play for most of the opening period. However they had nothing to show for it as most of their scoring chances went high or wide. Lasalle opened the scoring late in the first period when a loose puck was fired home after a scrum in the crease. The Storm responded well and Teagan tied it up shortly after, with a minute left in the period.
Early in the second, the Moose got loose, and Troy buried one of his patented slappers from the top of the circle to give the Storm the lead. The Storm went up by 2 in the last minute of the second period when Connor won the draw to Mikayla, who backhanded it home from the slot.
These 2 teams have probably seen enough of each other this year, as emotions got a little raw in the third period and both teams took their share of unnecessary penalties.
Final score: Storm 3 - Lasalle 1

The 4 points earned this weekend vaulted the Storm into first place in the round robin standings. Great job Team.
