ENS U11 C Defeats Top Ranked Belle River 3-0 to Remain Undefeated in the Regular Season
The Belle River Canadiens U11C team is currently the team to beat in Bluewater with a 6-0 record and a +30 goal differential. In the preseason match-up between these two teams, Belle River thumped the boys in a convincing 7-2 win. However, coming off their victory at the Motown Cup, the U11C team were a confident bunch. With Coach Woolgar away, the boys wanted to make their coach proud and jumped on Belle River in their relentless, swarming style from the first drop of the puck. Particularly strong play by Zach Hammond led to an opening goal for the Storm. Hammond also drew 5 penalties due to his hard work attacking the Belle River defense leaving them no choice but to haul him down. Key to this game was the play of Fraumeni, Martin, Mayer, Schnekenburger, Nantais and Sperduti on defense who held Belle River to very limited scoring chances on goalie Carter Russell who earned the shut out. The forward line of Irvine, Larsen and Autterson scored the final two goals to seal the victory. It was as complete a win as the team has had all season.
