2nd Annual Teddy Bear Toss a Success!
On December 16th the Bantam Minor Team sponsored by Vernon's Tap and Grill held the 2nd annual Teddy Bear Toss at the Kingsville Recreation Centre. This event was supported by local associations and included representatives from the Essex and Kingsville Fire Departments (Jason Pillon and Scott Moore). We also received support from members of the Essex OPP and our very own Nelson Santos the Mayor of Kingsville. We also had a special guest appearance by Sparky the Fire Dog. At last count, there were more than 250 Teddy Bears collected and more than $300 raised during the event. The stuffed animals will be donated with support from the Goodfellow's to Santa's Cause for Kids and Toys for Tots. The money raised will be donated to Access County Community Support Services.
On behalf of the Team we would like to thank all of the family and friends from the community who so generously came out to help support this great event. A special shout out to the Atom Minor ENS Storm team who helped us collect all of the stuffed animals once the first goal was scored. We would like to extend our gratitude to the referees who not only assisted with the coordination of activities but also brought bears of their own to donate!!!
