SBI Update
Southpoint Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) and Essex Minor Hockey Association (EMHA) have signed a Letter of Intent to work collaboratively towards a Representative Partnership for the upcoming 2021-22 season. The Shared Boundary Initiative (SBI) pilot program previously operated between SMHA, EMHA and ENSMHA has expired and will not be extended by the OMHA.
Members of the ENSMHA Board participated in the initial planning of the Representative Partnership, but after careful consideration of the needs of our membership, the ENSMHA Board has decided not to participate in the Representative Partnership at this time. Instead, we are focusing on our own association, with the goal to continue offering the home town hockey that our members have come to know and love. The Board strongly supports maintaining the distinct identity of Storm hockey for both our local league and travel programs.
