Here is the latest news regarding next season as it pertains to Kingsville Arena.
First, and foremost – NO PROGRAMMING WILL BE CUT FROM ENSMHA FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON. Registration is open and we encourage you take advantage of our early bird pricing, saving you $100 off of registration fees!
We are in the process of securing ice at other arenas to replace the ice time utilized in Kingsville, which will be finalized in June.
No ENS programming will run in Kingsville until the end of November – at that time we will transition back to our home ice. Please remember that the situation is TEMPORARY and, once completed, we will have an updated and fully functioning arena!
Our plan is to secure ice in Harrow, Leamington, and Wheatley. Understanding that this poses additional travel, the Board is looking at several cost savings measures that we may take to potentially reimburse the members that this will affect. Per the motions presented at the Town Council meeting, we are also exploring options with the Town’s financial committee on this matter.
Wheatley ice is planned to be utilized by our Travel/Representative teams for their games. Travel/Rep practices on weekdays will be scheduled in Harrow. Local/House League is planned to run out of Harrow and Leamington.
Finding ice to maintain our programming is a daunting task and these locations were the ones who were able to present us with feasible ice times (i.e. starting a game at 4pm in Amherstburg was NOT feasible. Also, given that we have members from several different schools, early ice times during the week was not feasible as every school has different start times). An enormous amount of time was given to this plan and we believe that it is our best option. Again, we must remember that this is TEMPORARY and we will be back home in December.
As we receive updates regarding any of the issues surrounding the Kingsville Arena renovations and their projected timelines, we will share it. For now, we will continue to plan for a successful and fun 2023-24 season, so get registered today!
