ENSMHA Member Receives the OHF Scholarship!
Congratulations to our very own, Nick Wright, on being a recipient of the OHF Scholarship - only 30 recipients were chosen!
Nickolas has been a valuable asset to the ENSMHA as a player and has enjoyed great success with the 2005
Representative Team; playing with this age group since U8. This team has enjoyed multiple tournament wins
over the years, as well as Bluewater League Championships, but most impressive, a turn as a U13 OMHA
Finalist and then a U13 OHF Championship. As we all know, this takes more than just skill alone – the players
must believe in what they do and work together to achieve it. Nickolas, in every way, has always demonstrated
himself as a team player and a vital part of that kind of morale.
His accomplishments were not just on the ice as a player; in the last 2 years ENSMHA has hosted the Bauer
First Shift Program and our Bauer First Shift Transition Program. Nickolas has volunteered his time to these
programs in order to give back to the game that he loves so much. He has directly helped those new, young
players learn the game of hockey in a safe and supportive environment and to grow to love it as much as he
does. This involvement and commitment has pivotally provided growth to his home centre as ENSMHA is the
only association in the Bluewater League that can boast not only maintenance of our numbers, but growth as
well. A feat not possible without players like Nickolas to lead the next generation in play.
Over the years we have witnessed Nickolas grow into a fine young man, both on and off the ice. This has
translated through the association levels and he has been recognized by his teammates and coaches by being
named the Captain of his team in multiple years. He is also recognized in higher levels as an AP for the U21
team, as well as an AP for the Wheatley Sharks Junior C team. Most recently, Nickolas was chosen to represent
ENSMHA at the U18 All Star Event and did so with honor.
We are proud that he spent his minor hockey career with our association. His presence and tenacity are exactly what we hope to embody in all of our players.
Nickolas will be attending University Of Guelph in the Fall, studying Bio Engineering and we wish him the best of luck!
