AMHA/ENSMHA MERGER VOTE RESULTS
On behalf of the AMHA and ENSMHA executive boards, we want to thank both memberships for making an effort to attend the information sessions and the vote that took place. We had a monumental decision to make and want to thank all those involved in making it happen.
Based on the attendance at both the meetings held in Harrow and Amherstburg:
AMHA has APPROVED the Merger Vote with a 90.77% majority.
ENSMHA has APPROVED the Merger Vote with a 81.7% majority.
As promised, we are keeping our members updated every step of the way as we proceed with amalgamation talks with Amherstburg Minor Hockey. With both association voting with an astounding "yes", what comes next?
It's important to note that the "yes" vote does not mean our associations are automatically merged and this is a done deal. It is a very big and important step in the process, but there is much work still to be done. Now that we have the membership's support on both sides, the real work begins.
From here, the boards will work together on compiling the documents needed in order to submit an application to OMHA for amalgamation of our 2 centres. This will be submitted in the Fall for OMHA consideration. The final decision rests in their hands.
We will continue to keep you in the loop and look forward to a long and successful partnership with our Amherstburg neighbors.
