Novice Majors Win Guelph Power Play Tournament
The Novice Majors enter the Guelph Power Play Tournament this weekend with 1 win and 1 tie on the season but that did not stop them from playing their hearts out this weekend.

The team beat the Hespeler Shamrocks and the Guelph Gryphons on Friday to start out 2-0 and on Saturday they battled the Woolwich Wildcats and the Riverside Rangers hard but lost both games to finish round robin play with a 2-2 record earning a spot in the semi finals as the #4 seed.  Sunday morning the team battled hard and was able to beat the top ranked Toronto George Bell Navy Team 4-3 setting up a rematch with the Woolwich Wildcats in the finals.  It was a great back and forth game that could not be settled in regulation and required a 5 minute 3 on 3 OT.  The OT solved nothing either so it went to a 3 player shootout that also ended in a 1 -1 tie with Beckham Hunter scoring for Erie.  The shootout continued as a sudden death with Trent MacIntyre scoring as the 9th Erie shooter winning the championship.  Dylan Patterson stopped all but 1 of the shootout attempts backstopping Erie in the Finals.
