Week-end Review
Erie North Shore Storm Atom Minor Team December 17 – Erie vs St. Clair Shores After hearing the great news of qualifying for the International Silver Stick Tournament to be held in January, the team came out flying with a new mission! Starting the first period with speed and energy, Kaden Brennen scored with a nice goal assisted by Mathew Bradfield and Luca Quenneville.

Receiving a puck off the boards with quick hands, Alex Riddiford popped in the second unassisted goal. Along with hard working defensemen and a dedicated goalie, Erie North Shore Storm was able to play with an equally competitive team. Still fighting and focused, St. Clair Shores was able to score two goals. In the third, using a nice triangle set up, Heath McKee was able to pass to Shannon Olson who quickly fed Ethan Robinson for goal number three. Even with hard work and great back checking by all forwards, the lead didn’t last long. St. Clair Shores scored again to tie the game for the final score of 3-3.

December 18 – Erie vs South Point Capitals

Mission continued; the whole team came out for Sunday’s game with impressive energy. By way of a great start, and four minutes into the competitive first period, Shannon Olson scored with assists going to Heath McKee and Ethan Robinson. After a fast moving first period and 2 minutes 45 seconds into the second, Mathew Bradfield had a massive wrist shot, scoring the second goal with breakaway passes from Luca Quenneville and Evan Fields. At 3 minutes 38 seconds left in the second period, South Point scored making it 2-1. Only 26 seconds later, Heath McKee working hard in the corner and Ethan Robinson behind the net, were able to successfully feed the puck to Shannon Olson for Erie North Shores’ third and final goal. Just one minute left in the second period, South Point scores putting them one goal away from a tie. For the whole third period, Jackson Ford answered with impressive saves, stopping South Point from tying the game. Each player displayed individual drive and determination as they battled a tough team and were able to maintain their lead for a final score of 3-2!
