Erie North Shore Storm Peewee Majors – 09/13/13 to 09/15/13
Peewee Majors have a successful weekend with a win and a tie!

09/13/13 – Storm vs. Amherstburg Stars A

The Peewee Majors had their home opener Friday September 13 at Kingsville Arena against the Amherstburg Stars. In the past the Storm has been able to beat this team pretty consistently. However this year’s Amherstburg team seems as if it will be a stronger opponent. The Stars managed to keep the Storm off the board until 6 seconds before the end of the first period when Adrian Ridsdale popped one in the net off a pass from Rebecca Misiasz. The second period saw the Storm add another to the tally when a visiting AP player, Donny White, managed to get one past the goalie, assisted by Daniel Price and Ethan Litster! Thanks so much for playing with the team today Donny! The Stars remained scoreless going into the third, and Austin Marr increased the gap by putting another Storm goal between the pipes, assisted by Ryan Mucha and KayCyn Hernandez. Goalie Nathan Jacobs did a fantastic job in net stopping three Amherstburg breakaways on his way to earning the first Storm shut-out of the season! Final score was 3 – 0 with the Storm getting 25 shots on net while Amherstburg had 7.
Great game Peewee Majors!

09/15/13 – Storm vs. Windsor Jr. Spitfires AA

The Peewee Majors travelled to Adie Knox Arena in Windsor on Sunday September 15 to face the Windsor Jr. Spitfire AA team. With goalie Connor Axford in net the Storm hit the ice playing strong through the first period, outshooting Windsor 6 – 1. Try as they might neither team managed to get on the board. Second period saw all the scoring, with Windsor striking first with two goals two minutes apart. The Storm regrouped and then answered those goals with two of their own to tie up the score. The first Storm goal went to Kristian Pelling assisted by Rebecca Misiasz, and the tying goal was scored by Ryan Mucha assisted by Daniel Price and Kristian Pelling. The third period saw both teams play strong defensively to keep the puck out of the net and the game ended in a 2-2 tie. Shots on net were an even 19 apiece and Goalie Connor Axford did a great job protecting the net making many fantastic glove and kick saves!
Exciting game Storm!
