Erie North Shore Storm Peewee Majors – 09/20/13 to 09/22/13
Peewee Majors are on a roll with 2 more wins this weekend!

09/20/13 – Storm vs. Kent Cobras A

Friday September 20 the Peewee Majors were on home ice at Kingsville Arena against the Kent Cobras A team. Goalie Nathan Jacobs was between the pipes for the game and ready to defend the Storm net. The first period saw both teams struggle to get on the board but the Storm struck first with Rebecca Misiasz backhanding the puck in the net off a pass from Adrian Ridsdale. Kristian Pelling also helped out by getting the puck to Adrian, earning an assist. The Cobras answered this goal and then added another taking the lead for a brief 20 seconds, at which point Ethan Litster tied things up with help from Austin Marr and Franco Shaften. In the second period the Storm pulled ahead once again when Ethan Litster passed the puck across the front of the goalie to a waiting Robbie Brush who slammed it into the net for the play of the game! Kent was not able to get another one past the goalie and the Storm went into the third period with a one goal lead. The Storm proceeded to get another insurance goal two minutes into the period with Ethan Litster getting his second of the game assisted by Franco Shaften and Ryan Mucha. The Cobras were not ready to give up and fought back, outshooting the Storm 10-8 in the third, finally managing to slip one by Nathan returning the Peewee Majors to a one goal lead. The Storm defense kicked into action preserving the lead and giving the team a 4-3 win. The Storm outshot the Cobras 20-18 in this very close game.
Congrats on another great win Storm!

09/22/13 – Storm vs. Amherstburg Stars A

The Peewee Majors were the home team again on Sunday, September 22 as they faced the Amherstburg Stars for the second time this season. Unlike Fridays Kent game which saw each team getting one penalty apiece, this game was penalty filled. With goalie Connor Axford protecting the net the Peewee Majors prepared to take on the Stars but could not solve the Amherstburg goalie through the end of the first period. Amherstburg controlled the first getting 7 shots on net while the Storm had 4, with the Stars managing to squeak one through halfway through the period with their one and only goal of the game. After listening to Coach Ken’s words of wisdom between the first and second period, the Storm finally came to life, totally dominating the second outshooting the Stars 10-3! All those shots on net paid off in a big way, with Austin Marr starting things off earning the first Storm goal unassisted while on the penalty kill. Robbie Brush scored the second and game winning goal next, with help from Austin Marr. Ethan Litster then secured the next Storm goal assisted by Rebecca Misiasz and Adrian Ridsdale. In the third period the Storm weren’t quite finished with the Stars, with Ethan scoring his second goal of the game assisted by Franco Shaften, followed by Mitchell Renaud scoring the final Storm goal of the game with help from Owen Stannard and Daniel Price. With a final score of 5-1 the Storm outshot their opponents 24-16. Connor Axford did a great job in net, allowing only one Amhersburg powerplay goal.
Great work out there Storm! Keep the streak going!
