Erie North Shore Storm Peewee Majors – 11/08/13 to 11/09/13
Erie North Shore Storm Peewee Majors have a slow start but end up with a big win this weekend!

11/08/13 – Storm vs. Essex Ravens A

Friday November 8 the Storm played on home ice against the Essex Ravens. This would be the first time the two teams have faced off against each other this season. Goalie Connor Axford prepared to defend the Storm net and the team hit the ice. The first period both sides fought hard as they tried to solve the opposing goalie. The Storm managed four shots on net with Essex getting five, but neither team could put the puck in the net and the period ended scoreless. The second period continued much the same way until the last two minutes of play when Essex was able to get on the board. In the third the Storm tried hard to tie it up but instead drew two penalties giving Essex the two man advantage. Essex took this opportunity to score two more times giving the Storm a 3-0 loss. Essex outshot the Storm 20-13 in the game and goalie Connor Axford had his work cut out for him as he did a great job fighting off a strong Essex offence. The two teams meet up again next week on Storm ice.

11/09/13 – Storm vs. Southpoint Capitals A

Saturday November 9 the Storm travelled to Leamington to take on the Southpoint Capitals. The first period started much like the previous days game with the two teams playing strong offensively as they fought hard for the puck. Halfway through the period Southpoint got one past goalie Nate Jacobs to get on the board first. The Storm were unable to solve the Southpoint goalie by the end of the period and went into the second with a one goal disadvantage. Five minutes into the period Austin Marr shot one past the goalie with an unassisted goal and the team came to life! Ethan Litster shot one in the net three minutes later, also unassisted, then Robbie Brush scored on a pass from Kristian Pelling, followed by Ethan Litster getting another unassisted goal, ending the second with a 4-1 lead for the Storm! The Peewee Majors continued playing strong into the third period with Ethan Litster scoring his third of the game and earning a hat trick off a pass from Austin Marr. The final goal of the game came from Kristian Pelling assisted by Adrian Ridsdale and Trent Pickle, giving the Storm a 6-1 win against Southpoint! A strong Storm defense consisting of KayCyn Hernandez, Trent Pickle, Ryan Mucha, Mitchell Renaud and Franco Shaften did a great job preventing any Southpoint scoring opportunities during the second and third periods. The Storm finished the game with 30 shots on net and goalie Nate Jacobs did a great job stopping 21 Southpoint shots. Another great win for the Peewee Majors!
