Storm Ring In The New Year With Style - January 3 & 4/2015
This year I resolve to:
- Eat my vegetables.
- Get good school grades.
- Do what Mom says the first time she says it.
- Give 110% on the ice.

Goodbye 2014!
After an eleven day layoff, which saw lots of family and friends, thousands of calories and a visit from the big guy (the one in the red suit, not the Coach ), the Storm took to the ice this past weekend for back to back games.

Tecumseh Vs. Storm - January 3/ 2015
Looking like a team that had practised daily over the Holidays, the Storm skated well from the outset and were rewarded when Aaron scored in the first period for an early 1-0 lead. Good positional play continued into the second and third periods as the Storm moved the puck with precision in the offensive zone providing quality scoring chances. Keegan capitalized by driving to the net giving the Storm a 2-0 lead half way through the third. Strong defensive play was the name of the game from there on in, as the Storm killed off 2 consecutive penalties late in the game. Finally, with the Tecumseh goalie pulled and the Storm down a man, Aaron skated the puck into the neutral zone and fired a wrist shot which found the empty cage. Final score, Storm wins 3-0. Congrats to Tommy on his first shutout of the season.

Storm Vs. Amherstburg - January 4/ 2015
In what looks to be a preview of the upcoming playdowns, the Storm visited Amherstburg Sunday afternoon. Amherstburg drew first blood, but Conner fired a nice shot from the slot to tie it up. In the second period the home team once again took the lead, but Aaron made it short lived making it 2-2 going into the third. In one of their best periods of the year, the Storm picked it up a notch, led by strong defensive rushes by both Ellie and Carter. Matt boomed home the go ahead goal half way through the third giving the Storm their first lead of the game. The Storm stymied the Amherstburg passing game by clogging up the lanes and stepping up defensively. Reilly put the game on ice getting an empty netter with 10 seconds left to make the final 4-2 for the Storm.

Perfect start to the new year and a good time to get hot just before the playdowns with our 3rd consecutive win.
Go Storm Go !!
