Take It To The Limit
3 weekends, 6 games, 1500 km and nothing is decided.
It’s gut check time for the Atom A.E. Storm as their preliminary round vs the St. Thomas Stars boils down to the final weekend to determine a winner. Seems these two teams don’t want any down time between Playdown series, as for the third time in a row the two teams split their weekend games.

Game # 5 – Friday January 29/2016 – Harrow

A large and lively gathering came out to support the hometown Storm and the team did not disappoint.
The Storm pressed hard early, but could not put one past the visiting goaltender.
Tommy came up big, stoning a St. Thomas breakaway, to keep the game scoreless in the first.
Finally, late in the period, Connor picked up a loose puck in front and put it home for the lead.
St. Thomas tied it up early in the second when they perfectly executed a 2 on 1 rush.
The rest of the period featured exciting back and forth action but no further goals.
T
he third period saw the torrid pace continue with each team having their chances. Then, Wyatt picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone, took 3 strides, and unleashed one of his patented wrist shots. The puck was airborne for 70 feet, landed 2 feet in front of the goalie and bounced over his pad into the bottom corner of the net. Easily, the TSN highlight goal of the night.

Final score: Storm 2 – St. Thomas 1

Game # 6 – Saturday January 30/2016 – St. Thomas

The Storm traveled to St. Thomas on Sunday with a chance to knock the Stars out of Playdowns on their own ice. A victory would take a complete team effort as the series has been anything but easy thus far.
The Storm ran into penalty trouble early and it would cost them. St. Thomas scored on the powerplay  in the first period and went up 1-0.
That would hold up to be the games only goal, despite a solid outing by the Storm.
There were a few near misses, but the Team could not find the back of the net on this day.

Final score: St. Thomas 1 – Storm 0

The 8 point series is now tied at 6 points apiece.
Next game could decide it and will be Saturday February 6, 2pm at Harrow arena.
Come out and show your support.
