Silver Stick Tournament
The Minor PeeWee's traveled to Woodstock this past weekend to participate in their Regional Silver Stick Tournament. The Storm fought hard in 3 exciting and closely matched games. Despite only giving up a tournament low 4 goals, the team failed to make it past the round robin. What they did prove however is that this Team can play competitive hockey with any opponent at this level.

Game #1 vs. East Gwillimbury Eagles - Friday October 21, 7:30 pm
In a game that would come back to haunt them, the Storm beat the Eagles at every facet of the game except the one that counts, the scoreboard. Even though they out-skated, out-worked and out-played their opponents for most of the game, the score was 0-0 after regulation time. As is often the case in these types of games, East Gwillimbury stole the victory in overtime when they capitalized on a powerplay goal midway through the period.
Final Score: Eagles 1 - Storm 0

Game # 2 vs. Woodstock Jr. Navy Jets - Saturday October 22, 11:30 am
The Storm responded well the next morning and jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Kohen and Cale.
In the second period the lead increased to 3-0 on Nate's shorthanded goal after he intercepted a clearing pass and went in alone, burying it on a backhanded deke.
In the third period the Storm shut down Woodstock with a stifling defense, preventing them from gaining any momentum and preserving the victory.
Final Score: Storm 3 - Woodstock 0

Game # 3 vs. St. Thomas Jr. Stars - Saturday October 22, 4:15 pm
In a must win game to move on to the semi finals, the Storm were in tough against a strong St. Thomas team.
The first period ended in a 1-1 tie thanks to Owens buzzer beater point shot. The second period saw the same high intensity as the first, but neither team made any headway and headed to the dressing rooms still tied at 1.
The Storm resumed their game after a 15 minute break but unfortunately the intermission was only 10 minutes. St. Thomas scored goals on each of the first 2 shifts of the third period to go up 3-1. Despite a goal from Cale and a few more good scoring chances, the Storm couldn't notch the equalizer and St. Thomas hung on for the win.
Final Score: St. Thomas 3 - Storm 2

Overall a great weekend of hockey with the Storm proving they belong with the best of them.
