The ENS Minor PeeWee's took care of business in their first home game of the OMHA quarter final Playdowns. The Storm did so by sweeping aside the Garden City Jr. Falcons to advance to the semi finals, inching ever closer to the coveted Red Hat.
Garden City Vs. Storm - Friday February 17/2017 - Kingsville
A large crowd was on hand for Storm night in Kingsville, hoping to see the first of two ENS teams advance to the next round of Playdowns. The Minor PeeWee's did not disappoint and got on the board first when Nate buried a rebound from the slot on an early powerplay. Garden City hung tough the rest of the period and the Storm led 1-0 after one.
Five minutes into the second period, Cale put the Storm up 2-0 on another powerplay goal. A.J. made it 3-0 half way through the period when he fired a wrist shot that beat the goalie low glove side. Mid way through the third period A.J. scored his second of the night to give the Storm a comfortable 4-0 lead.
The game unofficially ended with 5 minutes left in the third period when Ariana, lying prone on the ice from a first save, made a highlight reel glove save to effectively drive a dagger through the hopes of a Garden City comeback. Buoyed by the stellar save, the Storm took the ensuing face off down the ice where Cole buried a nice 2 on 1 pass from A.J. to seal the victory.
Final Score: Storm 5 - Garden City 0
