Storm Rises over Falls
The ENS Minor PeeWee's traveled to the Niagara district over the weekend to begin their OMHA Playdown quarter final matchup against the Garden City Jr. Falcons.
The road trip was successful as the Storm won the first two games to lead the six point series 4-0. The Team now returns home for the next 3 games in an attempt to move on to the semi-finals.

Game # 1 - Storm Vs. Garden City - February 11/2017 - St. Catharines
The Storm showed no sign of travel fatigue and took the lead on the second shift of the game when Cale put in Connor's rebound. Nate and Matteo each added singles and the Storm led 3-0 at the end of the first.
In the second period Matteo set up Kohen who scored the only goal of the frame to make it 4-0 heading into the third. The Storm continued their strong forechecking in the final period making it difficult for Garden City to sustain any momentum. Kohen got his second of the night, this time by putting a rebound home from a Ty H. point shot. Garden City got their only goal half way through the period to ruin Tommy's shutout bid.
Final score: Storm 5 - Garden City 1

Game # 2 - Storm Vs. Garden City - February 12/2017 - St. Catharines
Game two started on a more even keel as Garden City raised their game up a notch. The first period remained scoreless until Cale put a wrist shot low glove side to give the Storm a 1-0 lead.
The Storm went up 2-0 in the second period when Kohen broke down his opposite wing then curled out front putting a shot high over the goalie's glove. A.J. made it 3-0 when he fired a wrist shot from the slot off the post and in. In the third period strong forechecking by Connor led to Michael getting his own rebound to go in after his first shot bounced back to him. Ty M. finished off the scoring by making a nice rush down the left side and going  five hole on the netminder.
Speaking of netminders, Ariana had the glove well oiled as she squeezed the trapper shut on everything above the knees en route to the shutout.
Final score: Storm 5 - Garden City 0
