Storm Start Series With Split Vs. St. Thomas
Submitted By RMoulton on Tuesday, January 31, 2017
The ENS Minor PeeWee's started their second round of Playdowns against the St.Thomas Jr. Stars this past weekend. Judging from the first 2 games, home ice advantage may not be all that it's cracked up to be.

Game #1 - Saturday January 28/2016 - Harrow
Despite having nearly a week off to recuperate and prepare, the Storm started the game flat and found themselves down 2-0 after six minutes of play. While play improved in the second period the Team couldn't muster very many shots on net and trailed 3-0 heading into the third period. A.J. got the Storm on the board early in the period but the Storm couldn't build any momentum and St.Thomas answered back with 2 more goals.
Final Score: St. Thomas 5 - Storm 1

Game #2 - Sunday January 29/2016 - St. Thomas
The Team made some small adjustments based on game one which paid off in full. A much more enthusiastic start was evident and the two teams ended the first period in a scoreless draw.
St. Thomas scored first early in the second period and added another a couple of minutes later to go up 2-0.
The Storm then found their stride by scoring 3 times in 2 minutes to take the lead on goals by Owen, Cale and Nate. St. Thomas got a late one and the teams entered the third tied at 3.
St. Thomas scored on the first shift of the third to go up 4-3. The Storm answered back 2 minutes later when Cale put one in high blocker side. The rest of the period decided nothing and the two teams were headed to overtime.
St. Thomas started the overtime strong but the Storm did not break. Three minutes in, Cale picks up the puck at the blue line, beats the defenceman going to his left and fires home the game winner low glove side to complete the Hat Trick.
Final Score: Storm 5 - St. Thomas 4

Series tied at 2 points each. Next game Friday Feb. 3, 7:30pm - Kingsville
