Storm Scary Good on Halloween Weekend
The Storm Minor PeeWee's exercised some demons that were haunting them at the beginning of the year and in doing so put a fright into the competition as they swept 4 points from 2 tough teams.

Storm vs. Belle River Canadiens - Saturday October 29/2016 - Kingsville
This was the first meeting of the season between the two teams and the butterflies were evident for the Storm as they got off to a slow start and Belle River scored on the opening shift. After a soft whisper into the players ears from the Coaching staff, it was game on and the Storm picked up the pace.
A.J. knotted the game at 1-1 midway through the second when he picked up a loose puck in the slot and put it high over a downed goalie. The two teams continued to battle but the score remained 1-1 after two periods thanks to some quality goaltending by Ariana.
In the third the tide slowly turned in favour of the Storm as their forechecking began to pay off with scoring chances. They were finally rewarded when Ty H. fired a wrist shot from the point that found it's way to the back of the net. The Storm then continued to win the battles the rest of the game and seal the victory.
Final Score: Storm 2 - Canadiens 1

Storm vs. Essex Ravens - Sunday October 30/2016 - Essex
The Storm rolled into Essex hoping to continue their strong play of late against an old rival. The game did not disappoint as the first period featured a fast pace of play but ended scoreless. The Storm got on the board first in the second when Ty H. released another one of his patented blue line wrist shots that bulged the twine.
Essex answered promptly on the next shift to tie the game 1-1. Not to be outdone, Cale answered back with one of his own to make the score 2-1 with 10 minutes left in the second period. The play continued back and forth until Cale potted his second of the night with a nice backhander high on the short side. The 2 goal lead did not last for long. Essex scored on a penalty shot after a Storm glove covered the puck in the crease. Buoyed by the fortunate break Essex tied the game on the following shift on a breakaway and the second period ended 3-3.
The third period saw the same quick pace as the first two but again the Storm began winning the battles for the puck and position. Finally late in third Ellie won a corner battle in the offensive zone and the puck came out to the slot where Connor banged home the winning goal on a rebound.
Final Score: Storm 4 - Essex 3

A strong 48 hours of hockey with the result being 4 points taken from 2 quality teams.
